Why traditional neurology may not be enough?
As I started my practice, I noticed that I had a lot more young patients than I was expecting. After all, strokes and brain hemorrhages are diseases of aging.
Soon, I realized that a majority of my younger patients had the same risk factors as my elderly patients. The only explanations that I was able to find were lifestyle, nutrition and environment. That realization led me to study nutrition, life style and environmental factors extensively.
At this time I have a more holistic approach to care. I firmly believe that improvements in health can be achieved using a combination of medical and non-medical approaches. Some patients only require adjustments in their nutrition, life style and environmental, while others require medication and other strategies. More commonly than not I use both approaches in combination.
